2006年度的美国billboard音乐奖将于当地时间12月4日(北京时间12月5日)在拉斯维加斯的米高梅大酒店举行，包括珍妮·杰克逊(janet
jackson)，发行了个人专辑的黑眼豆豆(black eyed peas)女主唱菲姬(fergie)、来自拉斯维加斯的著名乐队the
killers、里函娜(rihanna)，克里斯·布朗(chris brown)，“美国偶像”凯瑟琳-麦克菲(ketharine
mcphee)和克里斯-多特里(chris daughtry)等在内的多位歌手都将出席本次颁奖盛事。
本届颁奖礼将由格莱格·斯蒂尔斯(greg
sills)和迈克尔·莱维特(michael levitt)担任执行制作人，而布鲁斯·高维斯(bruce gowers)和韦林-梅(wylleen
may)将分别负责本次颁奖礼的导演和制作工作。另据悉，布兰妮将与帕丽斯·希尔顿联手主持公告牌音乐颁奖典礼。
根据各位歌手在billboard杂志每周公布一次的榜单中的具体表现，每年的billboard音乐奖都是对当年表现出色的唱片与艺人的一次嘉奖，而每年的最终提名名单将在11月底年度排行榜停止计分以后公布。在去年billboard音乐奖的角逐中，美国著名流行朋克乐队绿日(green
day)和说唱狂人50 cent各获六项大奖，并列成为去年的大赢家。
